Mandy Selhurst & Ruta Crafter

3rd October to 16th October

Mandy Selhurst has enjoyed art in all its many aspects since childhood.  Her paintings reflect her deep love of the countryside, particularly landscapes and skies with their ever-changing moods.

Working in acrylic and mixed media, Mandy’s work is free, full of texture, fluid and semi-abstract.  Living amongst the hills of west Dorset and close to the Jurassic coastline clearly influences her paintings, and Mandy says ‘I will never take it for granted’.

Mandy has exhibited widely in galleries, in the Cotswolds where she once lived, in London, Stratford-Upon-Avon and more recently, in Beer, Devon.  She is also a member of the long-established Oxford Art Society.

Dr Ruta Crafter lives and works in Bridport and runs Jurassic Coast Studio at the Durbeyfield in West Bay. Her artwork is a vibrant, expressive, energetic, colourful, free interpretation of local landscape, flowers, garden, and abstract compositions in oil, acrylic, pastel and watercolour.

Her works are housed in private collections in the UK, USA and Lithuania. She is currently proudly studying Art and Design at Weymouth Art College, which has been her lifelong dream after spending over 20 years as a psychiatrist. Watch this space!
