Mentorship at Sou'-Sou'-West Gallery
Want a new creative challenge in 2025?
To improve your art and be guided by experienced professional artists?
Need more space to paint or make locally?
A flexible learning experience which fits in with your daily schedule?
The new Flex space at SSW Symondsbury could be the answer for you.
Sou'-Sou'-West Gallery is offering a Mentorship Programme for 6-8 people who are seeking to progress their creative practice to another level.
Over six weeks from Monday 20th January to Sunday 2nd March 2025 you will embark on a theme exploring various aspects of creative learning which will enable you to improve techniques and learn new skills supported by professional local artists.
Each mentee will be given an area of approximately 6-8' to call their own in the Flex Space which they can access daily and provided with a table, chair and easel, if required.
This opportunity is suitable for all levels, interests and skills. From beginners to those returning to painting or making after time away. Regular critiques both in a group and individual sessions will help participants to identify strengths and aspects to work on in a supportive atmosphere.
Mentors taking part in the introductory six weeks are experienced teachers and have a professional art practice also.
The Programme will finish with group show open to the general public in the Flex space in March.
We hope that those taking part will want to continue their artistic journey by joining us again in the summer from Friday 9th May to Saturday 31st May for three weeks, and there will be a follow up programme later in the Autumn for three weeks, however, we aim to be 'flexible' to accommodate you.
The initial six week Mentoring Programme in 2025 is being offered at an introductory price of £480 (£80 per week) which includes basic materials, ample work space, access to a tutor during the week with both group projects and individually set themes to inspire and challenge.
Payment in installments is available.
