John Calder

John's journey into land art began when he inherited farmland in west Dorset, and retrained to lay his hedges, coppice his woodlands, and learnt to make charcoal from the resulting waste material.  He now produces sculptures inspired by the natural forms that catch his eye during routine work.

John's 'Primordial Life' is currently installed in the courtyard outside the gallery.
