Beaminster School 2025
The annual Year 9 art exhibition arranged by Miss Hawkins.
The Natural World
The Natural World is an endless source of inspiration and there are many ways to visually record it. Natural forms such as seedpods, shells and bones have been the starting point for our Year 9 artwork.
Students have drawn direct observations from the natural objects. Year 9 have also explored monoprint, mixed media and expressive ink and wax resist imagery.
These observations have been developed and abstracted to reate forms for sculpture. This has been combined with learning about the sculptures of Peter Randall Page, Henry Moore and the anthropomorphic illustrations of Leonard Baskin.
We are really pleased to be working with Phil Clayton of Sou'-Sou'-West. It is fantastic to be given the opportunity to exhibit our students work in a professional gallery and share it with the public. We are delighted with the art that our young people have made and hope that visitors to Symondsbury enjoy the exhibition.
