Marion Taylor

After an initial 2 year Foundation Course Marion studied Textile Design at the Somerset College of Art. This discipline instilled in her a love of colour and design which can be seen in her work today.

Marion paints colourful depictions of the Dorset landscape, in particular Colmer’s Hill near Symondsbury.  More recently Marion has been drawn into the world of collage, the freedom that collage allows suits her meticulous and sometimes quirky style.

Marion’s imagination is also channelled into small clay figures, dogs, monkeys and humans have all been   sculpted in clay and decorated using oxides and glaze.

More recently Marion has published two books Colmers Hill, One Artists Obsession and West Bay, A Visual Journey in Art.

It was after the publication of the Colmers Hill Book that Marion was asked to appear in the Dorset episode of Julia Bradbury’s ‘ Walks with a View where she was filmed chatting ‘all things Colmers’ with Julia.
