The essence of Sally Bassett’s work is its energy, vitality and colour. Work develops from sketches made in a small sketch book which Sally tries to have with her at all times. She uses her photographs as back up. Sally’s seascapes and boats are inspired by the wild sea coasts and harbours of the West Country. Her landscapes paintings follow the season’s of the year from bluebell woods, apple orchards or meadows of daisies and poppies, autumn leaves or snow walks.
